Dayflowers

You probably recognize this one from my previous pictures. This is the dayflower, of which I have pictures of more than one species. My first pic is the first one I took of a species that lives in shady places, and was hard to get to since it tended to grow far back in thickets under trees where they are hard to reach. The second and third are ones that grow in open areas. It's a favorite because, other than the sky and in water, one doesn't see very much blue in nature.

The next two look almost identical but are in fact different individuals. Notice how the leaves are much narrower than on the plant above. Also, the flowers are larger on those below. This is kind of an unusual type of flower, since they have just 2 large petals.
