Flame-leaf Sumac

This is an appropriate name for this plant. This may be the most common fall color you'll see in the hill country. It's common along roadsides, especially along limestone outcroppings. The color is spectacular although the plant is only a shrub. Occassionally you can see a large and brightly colored specimen which can be very impressive. I think this has xeriscaping potential, but of course, I'm no expert on the subject!
