This is one of the larger, brighter wildflowers you'll see. Ironically, it comes from one of the less appreciated plants, the prickly pear cactus, a plant familiar to your average Texan. I've seen some in yellow and in orange. I might be able to get an orange example in the future but it's the same as this except in color.
