Snow-on-the-Mountain

This is also common in September and can be seen in large numbers around country roadsides, although not covering whole fields. From a distance it resembles some other plants of similar structure, such as Queen Anne's lace or bishop's weed, neither of which I have pictures good enough to have posted, unfortunately. Upclose, they are very different.
