Sorry, folks--again, I can't claim a positive ID on this one. I'm pretty sure it's a basketflower, and it's most definitely white. Anyway, it's very common now, in mid-May. It's kind of interesting to observe the succession of plant species. Some flourish early, then as they diminish, others appear and take over, than others, etc. It's easy to find large numbers of these.
Here's a whole bunch of them. This and the indian blanket are the dominant flowers in terms of number in mid and latter May.
